2026-27 ROCKETS FALL & WINTER REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Hello Rockets Families,

Registration is now open for the 2026-27 Fall & Winter Basketball Season!

Whether you're returning to the Rockets or joining us for the first time, we're excited to welcome you for another season of basketball, skill development, teamwork and fun.

To register, simply visit the Registration Portal above and follow the registration steps.

Please Register Early

Several age groups will have registration caps this season to help us maintain appropriate roster sizes and provide the best possible experience for our athletes. Once an age group reaches capacity, athletes will be placed on a waiting list. Each of the last few seasons, we have had returning Rockets Families miss out as they did not register in the summer and we were full. 

We encourage families to register as early as possible to secure their spot.

U16-U18 HS Varsity Athletes: Cole Harbour Minor Basketball is exploring the possibility of offering a competitive house league program for these athletes, allowing them to continue receiving club-level training, practices, and game opportunities throughout the fall and winter seasons outside of Metro Basketball competition and not affect any elligability for HS. 

Please check the Rockets website in August, when we expect to post an interest form for prospective participants. If sufficient interest exists (approximately 40 or more athletes), the club may offer a Fall/Winter competitive league similar to our Sprummer program for varsity high school athletes.

 

2026-27 Season Timeline

July 1, 2026

• Registration Opens

July 12, 2026

• Rockets Basketball Annual General Meeting (AGM)

July 31, 2026

• Rockets Merchandise Store Opens (or sooner)

Mid-September (Beginning September 14)

• Placement & Balancing begins for U10, U12 and U14 athletes.

Early October

• Practices begin for U10, U12 and U14 teams.

October

• Open Runs and the Placement & Balancing process begin for U16 and U18 athletes. U18 Returning Athletes may have open runs prior to this through the U18 Division Corrdinator.

Late October

• The first round of Rockets merchandise (ordered before September 30) will be available for pickup.

October 24 & 25, 2026

• League games begin for:
  • U10 (Saturday)
  • U12 (Saturday)
  • U14 (Sunday)

November 8, 2026

• League play begins for U16 and U18 teams on Sunday November 8th.

Important Note

Final U16 and U18 team rosters are not announced until local High School Varsity teams have been selected, as High School eligibility impacts Metro Basketball roster formation.

Interested in Coaching?
The Rockets are always looking for enthusiastic coaches who want to make a positive impact on young athletes.

All new coaches have a simple admin process to get registered - best followed in this order. 

• Start by getting an NCCP Number (its free)
• Once Done - a few online learning courses
  • Emergancy Action Plan (10 Minutes)
  • Safe Sport Training (45 Minutes)
  • Rule of Two Requirements (10 Minutes)
• Then - Get Registered as Staff in the same portal you register athletes.
  • CHECK YES for Enhanced Triton Background Criminal Record Check, it's online and easy. They will emial you additonal instructions after you finish registering as staff. 
  • Be sure to add your NCCP number to your RAMP registration as staff
• Complete the additional backcheck requirements via your email (online for most everyone - feels like a credit check to validate your identiy and complete the backcheck)
